ABOUT TARAOnce upon a time I fell in love with painting with light...
Originally I trained as a graphic designer in Australia. Then one day I took a step into the world of multi-media shows... and fell in love. Flowing lines of laser light, dancing cascades of water, cacophonies of fireworks, large scale projections: a light ballet synchronised to music. I was hooked! Joyfully I animated with light, lugged 3-phase cables, learnt about DMX and laser point count, drew countless storyboards, dreamt shows in my sleep. I painted with lasers, lights, projection, water, pyro and special effects. And survived the challenges that come with being the only female in a crew full of men. Fast forward and the bright lights of the big wide world called. In 2000 I was offered a creative director role for a milti-media company in Italy. I taught myself how to say 'grazie' and set off. I spent several years in Milan before forming my own company and going freelance. Since then I have travelled the world several times concepting and directing shows, made homes in Paris and London, learnt two new languages (Italian and French) and can usefully say thank you in at least 30. My career has spanned opening ceremonies, multi-media spectaculars, national days, theatre, hotel openings, car launches and the list goes on. I feel very lucky. I've met some incredibly inspiring people, dreamt shows in impossible situations and experienced priceless times in far away places. This website is a tiny snapshot of a wealth of experiences, a hell of a lot of hard work, many sleepless nights and some magic moments... In 2010 I got an art studio on the banks of a canal in London and re-ignited my love of paint and words.
